A few weekends back I had the great fortune and privilege of being invited to New Orleans by my boyfriend and his family. We stayed in the Quarter, strolled down Bourbon Street by day and stumbled down it by night ;); went to a Saints game at the Super Dome, had the most delicious brunch at the Commander's Palace in the Garden District, then strolled around the block and stopped by the Manning family home. The food, memories and moments captured were quite honestly unforgettable. I can't explain how special it feels there. There is no doubt that New Orleans experienced utter devastation after Katrina, yet there is a spirit of not just survival, but vivacity and life- of thriving- there. The culture, food and drink and every vibe in NOLA is unique. I really can't put it into words, but lucky for me, a picture's worth a thousand words... and I took a lot:
Until next time, NOLA..
